Chrome Barbas

Chrome Barbas is the metal-finish side of El Barbas Hats: numbered Chrome editions, the 24K gold-plated Chrome I, and the chrome versions of the CT and Rich The Kid collabs. Suede-finish crowns, satin lining, plated crosses and badges — if it has shine on it, it’s filed here.

Chrome I to Chrome VI — reading the numbers

The Chrome line is released in numbered editions. Higher numbers are newer, not better — each one changes the plating, badge or crown finish.

Chrome I — Gold Edition

The first numbered edition and the only one with 24K gold plating on the hardware. Black suede crown, gold badge. Highest price in the category.

24K gold plated

Chrome VI

Latest numbered edition. Silver-chrome plating, cleaner badge, same structured 5-panel crown. The default pick if you want "the chrome cap" without a collab name on it.

Current edition

Classico Chrome Mushroom

Mushroom-motif artwork with chrome accents on the classic silhouette. Sits outside the numbered run — think of it as the graphic edition of the chrome line.

Graphic chrome

Red Monkey Fiesta Chrome 25

The Fiesta '25 drop in three cuts — standard, '25 and Neon. Red-and-chrome colour story, the loudest caps in the category.

3 variants

Silver chrome or 24K gold?

Silver chrome works when…

  • You'll wear it most days — chrome plating hides scuffs better than gold
  • You want it to match the rest of the Chrome run (VI, Chrome X CT, Blackout)

24K gold works when…

  • It's a display or occasion piece, boxed between wears
  • You want the one edition with real gold plating — Chrome I only

Both finishes sit on the same suede crown and satin lining. The difference is the hardware, nothing else.

Hardware, materials, care

Crown Suede-finish fabric (gamuza), 5-panel, structured front
Lining Satin interior, printed or woven brand label
Hardware Plated metal badge and cross details — silver chrome across the line, 24K gold on Chrome I
Closure Adjustable snapback, one size
Care Wipe plating with a dry microfibre cloth; keep suede away from water; store in the box, badge up
Collab chrome Chrome X CT and Chrome Blackout are listed here and in their collab categories

Chrome Barbas, answered

Is Chrome Barbas connected to Chrome Hearts?

No. Both use cross motifs, which is where the mix-up comes from, but Chrome Barbas is El Barbas Hats' own chrome-plated series. Nothing here is a Chrome Hearts product.

What does "Chrome Cruces" mean on resale listings?

Cruces is Spanish for crosses — it's how Spanish-language sellers describe the chrome-cross designs in this category, mainly Chrome X CT and the numbered editions.

Does the chrome tarnish?

Silver chrome holds up to daily wear with a dry wipe. Gold plating is softer — treat Chrome I as an occasion cap and keep it boxed, and it stays bright.

Which chrome cap is the cheapest way in?

Classico Chrome Mushroom or one of the Red Monkey Fiesta cuts — both carry chrome detailing at the lower end of the range. Chrome VI is the mid-point; Chrome I Gold is the top.
